The DreamWorks reboot version of Megan is much different from her original counterpart. Gentle, beautiful and motherly, but also mature and resourceful, she acts as the Little Ponies' leader, and in times of crisis Twilight and the others would always call her to come over. She keeps the Rainbow of Light, a special locket which contains a powerful rainbow to defeat anything that is evil threatening the creatures.
Born on the planet earth, she is a teenage girl who lives with her father, two younger siblings, and her six friends. Throughout her younger years, she met lots of ponies and creatures in Dream Valley. Whenever she visits Equestria, she turns into an alicorn like Twilight, Sunset and the Princesses. Later, as of the Season 5 episode A New Home in Equestria, she (after given permission from her father) decides to live with Twilight and the others, but promises to come visit the planet earth anytime.
She first appears in the television special "My Little Pony: A Canterlot's Wedding", where she slides down a rainbow to Equestria. She meets Twilight, the Beta Six, Spike and Garble. She helps to defeat Queen Chrysalis and save Princess Cadence, the ruler of the Crystal Empire. Later on, she gains her own element: Faith (which is linked to Heart and Miracles).
Megan is actually the only child of the Williams family who is born with magic as their long-lost mother is possibly from Equestria.
